Daniel Cormier
Daniel Ryan Cormier, better known by his stage name Daniel Cormier, is an American martial artist and former Olympic wrestler presently contracted to the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Cormier is a two-time UFC World Champion, having held both the UFC Light Heavyweight and UFC World Heavyweight titles at the same time.
Early life
Daniel Ryan Cormier was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on March 20th, 1979. Daniel was born into a family of four siblings and suffered sorrow at a young age. On Thanksgiving Day, when he was only seven years old, his dad was shot and died. Daniel became a serious wrestler during his high school years. Cormier went on to win three Louisiana Championship Games, only losing twice after graduating from the ninth school.
Daniel went to Colby Community College in Kansas after graduation. Before moving to Oklahoma State University to compete in Division I, he maintained his wrestling career, becoming a two-time junior college national champion.
